Delay Spray Medication

Delay Spray containing Lidocaine work by

• Lidocaine blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve endings. When these sodium channels are blocked, sensory nerves unable to transmit pain signals to the spinal cord and brain.
• It results into numbness limited to the sprayed area. Because lidocaine acts on the nerve membrane directly, a spray formulation like Vigora Spray, Climax spray, Suhagra Duralong Spray, Lox 10% spray often produces numbness faster than topical creams that need time to penetrate the skin.

Uses of Spray

• Numbing the skin or mucosa before short procedures (injections, IV cannulation, minor dermatology work).
• Numbing the cervix or vagina before IUD insertion or similar gynaecologic procedures.
• Topical anesthesia of the throat or airway during bronchoscopy or endoscopy in controlled settings.
• Relief of pain from minor burns, insect bites, abrasions, and other superficial injuries (short-term symptom relief).

Precaution

• Do not use Delay Spray with other products containing local anesthetics unless instructed.
• Avoid using this spray on deep or infected wounds without medical advice.
• Use caution in people with severe liver disease, heart disease, or low blood pressure, systemic lidocaine clearance may be reduced.
• Do not use in combination with certain medicines (discussed below) without clinician guidance.
• Keep away from eyes and do not inhale intentionally. Mucosal use (throat/airway) should be performed by trained clinicians due to risk of swallowing, aspiration, or high systemic absorption.
