Sertraline
Sertraline is a SSRI (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) it can be used in dealing with premature ejaculation. It can be also used as an anti-depressant.
Sertraline may work by:
- Sertraline may wok by blocking the Serotonin Transporter (SERT) in the brain synapses. This may increase serotonin levels between nerve cells. Sertraline blocks reuptake of serotonin. Higher serotonin in the brainstem and spinal cord may increase the ejaculatory latency.
- Serotonin inhibits the ejaculatory reflex, as increase in serotonin takes longer time to reach threshold.
- It may also reduce performance anxiety, which plays important role in premature ejaculation for many people.
